Nursery Practitioner Role

  • Term Time Only - Hours between 8am - 1:30pm (25 hours)
  • Salary of £16,000 

Summary of the role:

  • To plan, organise and teach a class of Nursery aged pupils (2-3 years old) under the EYFS curriculum in preparation for joining the Ducks class.
  • Work closely with the Head Teacher and Director. To support and work as part of a team. Work as part of an overall teaching team (whole school) to provide a safe, happy and stimulating learning environment for the pupil.

Subject/role specific requirements:

  • Hold excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate the passion, skill and energy necessary for teaching children in the primary age range.
  • Have the personal awareness and insight to recognise when help, advice and support may be needed, and the willingness to seek and accept these.
  • Have a record of appropriate continuing professional development / in-service training.

  • Uphold and be supportive of the aims, values and ethos
  • Communicate effectively, honestly and professionally with parents and carers.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work as part of a professional team that is diverse in background, expertise and experience.

  • Possess the ability to cope calmly yet effectively in potentially stressful situations.
  • Demonstrate personal and professional integrity at all times.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Hold level 2/3 in childcare
  • Demonstrate or have evidence of excellent teaching skills and be a reliable and well-organised teacher and colleague, with excellent time management skills.
  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
