Job description for social work assistant
Belmont Recruitment are looking for a Social Work Assistant to join Nottinghamshire County Council on a temporary assignment. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will be working in the Children’s Duty and Assessment Service.
Main Duties:
- Prepare reports and deal with other documentation as necessary and appropriate.
- Liaise with staff within and outside the Department in order to gather information and assist care planning processes.
- To participate in case discussions, reviews and other relevant team activities.
- Transporting children & families when required.
- Completing direct work with children & their families and identifying and utilising appropriate resources and direct work tools to enable positive outcomes.
- Contribute as appropriate to practice and service developments.
- Completing and Assisting with practical tasks identified within child care plans.
- Attend departmental and inter-agency meetings as required.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge and awareness of policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria:
- NVQ Level 3 in Social/Health care or equivalent.
- Support Work or Family Support Work experience or experience of working in a residential setting with Children and Families.
- DBS Certificate
- Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
