Mechanical Technician

Up to £38,500

Newport, Isle of Wight

MC Technical Recruitment are actively seeking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Technician, to carry out the mechanical maintenance on an energy from waste plant on a rotating 12-hour shift pattern.

As the Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carry out planned & reactive maintenance on Mechanical equipment
• Investigating & rectifying mechanical faults to minimise plant downtime
• Recommend plant spare holdings to Maintenance manager
• Assist the maintenance manager in statutory inspections
• Liaise with operations team regarding fault finding & modification to process equipment
• Any other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• A relevant engineering qualified (HNC/NVQ/Apprenticeship etc.)
• Proven experience in EfW or relevant sector (Biomass/CCGT/Oil)
• Extensive experience of carrying out maintenance on mechanical process equipment such as steam boilers, turbines, pumps & conveyors
• Knowledge of all Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
• Marine Engineers with experience of working on steam raising plant will also be considered for this role

This is a permanent position based in Newport, Isle of Wight; due to the location of the plant you will need a full UK driving licence to access the site.

The package on offer for this position includes:

• A basic salary up to £38,500 depending on experience
