Job Overview - Commercial Gas Engineer

To diagnose and resolve plant failures, ensuring a first-time fix approach. The role involves carrying out planned maintenance, reactive breakdowns, and new installations due to the varied client requirements.

08:00 to 17:00 Monday – Friday

Plus, regular call-out rota

Responsibilities - Commercial Gas Engineer

• Service, install, and repair gas appliances and associated plant.
• Build and develop rapport with clients.
• Complete reactive visits, including fault finding, diagnosing, making-safe, and repairing.
• Update, renew, and correct asset lists to keep contracts up-to-date.
• Assist with raising quotations for remedial works and small projects.
• Liaise with the team to understand customer requirements and communicate ongoing work clearly and professionally.
• Complete assigned service and maintenance inspections to a high standard within appropriate timescales.
• Ensure all necessary cleaning materials, tools, equipment, etc., are available to complete assigned work. Report any stock shortages at the earliest opportunity.
• Adhere to and complete all company requirements related to paperwork, time sheets, activity sheets, and vehicle checks accurately and timely.
• Comply with Health & Safety regulations, Information Security, and company procedure requirements.

Qualifications and Experience - Commercial Gas Engineer

• Commitment to FORTH®’s values of Communication, Challenge, Leadership, Ambition, and Team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good understanding of health and safety within the industry.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Ability to technically problem solve.
• Ability to work and liaise with end-user clients.
• Health and safety qualifications such as PASMA or IPAF preferred but not essential.
• Commercial Gas Qualified (CoDNCO1, TPCP1(a), ICPN1, CDGA1, CORT1).
• Domestic Gas Qualified (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1).
