Mechanical Design Engineer

Skilltech Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for their client in the Widnes area, an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful and respected business delivering bespoke fabricated solutions and turnkey projects to a wide range of SMEs and large blue-chip customers across the UK.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with relevant experience in the design of bespoke secondary steelwork, manual handling solutions, jigs and fixtures within manufacturing and distribution.   

As a Mechanical design engineer, you will: -

• Design and develop material handling systems, secondary steelwork, jigs & fixtures to specified instructions.
• Carry out technical analysis and design work/ drawings and technical documentation including bill of materials etc.
• Work closely with the directors and engineers/ clients to refine concepts and specifications.
• Liaise with the fabrication and installation teams to work through complex problems to generate solutions.

We are looking for a Mechanical design engineer with: -

• Experience in the design of internal structures and material handling solutions – feasibility layouts, jigs & fixtures, bespoke equipment.
• Design capabilities – proficient in the use of CAD/3D software preferably AutoCAD/ Inventor.
• Strong understanding of the day-to-day operations of an engineering/ fabrication workshop in order to accurately quote and liaise with clients.
• Experience of large manufacturing/ distribution client`s issues in order to offer solutions.

This is a permanent position within a company where your suggestions will be supported and given all the necessary tools to help you succeed.

Salary £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.  

20 days holiday plus bank hols
