Capital Analyst – Salary, £55,000 - £60,000 per annum DOE. Excellent benefits package.
As part of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), the Capital Analyst will carry out robust first reviews of the parameterisation of the capital model applying judgement where necessary, with relevant data quality assessment and presenting analyses of change to the manager.
The Capital Analyst will also assist in the development of the capital model as well as model validation whilst providing support to the business.
This position will involve working closely with the Group Capital Senior Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Liaise with colleagues from various teams such as Finance, Claims, Reinsurance, Underwriters, gathering both quantitative information and seeking qualitative insights.
- Perform data quality testing.
- Participate in the data gathering, data validation, parameterization, development and operation of the existing capital models.
- Present relevant analyses of change to the manager for review.
- Participate in the validation of model results including sensitivity, back-testing and stress scenarios.
- Support in the reporting of ORSA capital results.
- Provide support to the business using capital model outputs or standard formula, including assessment of the efficiency of reinsurance programmes, allocation of capital for different portfolios and capital projections for business planning.
- Provide capital support for the portfolio-level reviews, e.g. analysis of large losses
- Involvement in actuarial tasks including Solvency II Technical provisions, IFRS 17 and reserve reviews.
- Update and improve the capital model documentation.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
- Highly numerate graduate (minimum 2.1 degree)
- A member of IFoA or equivalent Actuarial body, part qualified.
- 3-4 years relevant industry experience.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical, actuarial and capital modelling methodologies for general insurance and experience of applying these in a commercial environment
- At least 2 years modelling software experience (either @RISK, ReMetrica, Igloo, Tyche, R)
- Understanding of Solvency II technical standards and requirements (standard formula and internal model)
- Communicates confidently to people with a range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent level of oral and written English
- Advanced level of IT skills (Excel, Access)
Beneficial

- Knowledge of other modelling software
