A rare opportunity to break into the construction industry as a Trainee Buyer with a busy contractor in Hertfordshire

Business is good for our client. They work across a range of sectors including healthcare, residential, mixed use, commercial and sports and leisure sectors on multimillion pound schemes

Staff turnover is low throughout the company and the 2 Senior Buyers have been there for a number of years.

Financially strong and growing, you will work from their head office in Hertfordshire (refurbishment and owned by the company). The office is open plan, and the team are skilled and friendly

The Role – Trainee Materials Buyer

You will enjoy working in a collaborative working environment within a team of 6

You will be assisting with materials buying on a range of schemes worth between £10-80m. Works tends to be largely student accommodation and prestigious developments but our client also gets involved in commercial, retail, schools, hotels etc.

You will be assisting their Chief Buyer and will receive full support.

Work is largely new build but they do undertaken refurbishment schemes

Processes / supplier agreements are in place and the team work closely with the Site Managers to ensure that they remain on track with the procurement program

Working hours 9.00am – 5.30pm

The right person

You will be ideally have undertaken some sort of construction qualification.

Alternatively you will be qualified to A Level standard and will have a keen desire to work in the construction industry.
