Walter Carefoot & Sons (Construction) Ltd is a successful Construction Company who continually strive to be at the forefront of their Industry in North West England. We are a regional contractor with over 95 years experience of working on projects ranging from £500K to £10M in value. We operate under a number of Framework Agreements carrying out Partnered Projects for the Public and Private Sectors, principally focusing on Education, NHS, Commercial and Leisure Sectors of the Industry. Due to the continued growth of our company we are expanding our team and have a vacancy for a Pre-construction Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Estimating and Bid Writing Teams.
• Work with the Managing Director/CEO to agree on which opportunities to tender.
• Manage framework submissions.
• Allocate tenders to the estimating team.
• Regularly update the tender workload tracker.
• Analyse project specifications, drawings and additional documentation to fully understand the scope of works and associated risks.
• Allocate quality submission questions to relevant members of staff.
• Work closely with the bid writing team to compile/produce the best quality bid submission.
• Determine construction methodology with the estimating team.
• Represent Carefoot at internal/site meetings.
• Provide assistance to the estimating team to compile a set of Carefoot prelims.
• Attend tender settlement meetings.
• Mentor the estimating apprentices.
• Ensure CRM database is regularly updated.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Relevant experience in education, commercial and refurbishment projects with values between £500K to £10M.
• Proven experience as Pre-construction Manager or similar role within industry.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work well under pressure to deadlines.
• Preferably HND or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent people management skills, communication and negotiation skills paramount, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
