Technical Sales Engineer

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced and progressive Technical Sales Engineer to join our growing Sales team and help take our technical sales capabilities to the next level.
You will be joining an established and innovative business with significant backing to provide technical sales expertise for commercial and industrial solar projects, primarily roof top, car port and ground arrays across the UK.
You will be involved in conducting site surveys, assessing electrical systems and providing design solutions for solar energy systems from a commercial standpoint. This includes specifying equipment like breakers, cables and inverters as well as ensuring all technical aspects of the project are feasible and efficient.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed technical site surveys providing crucial data that influences design solutions
- Evaluate and optimize electrical systems for solar installations, ensuring feasibility and efficiency from desktop assessments to on-site evaluations
- Engage directly with customers offering expert advice and building confidence in the technology and services offered
- Work closely with the Design team to translate site-specific data into actionable and accurate design plans
- Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to strategic planning in a fast-evolving market.
About you:
We are looking for the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- A bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
- Prior experience in designing and implementing solar systems, particularly at commercial and industrial scale (typically between 300kW and 1MW)
- Prior experience in electrical system assessments with a proven ability to make quick, accurate decisions regarding equipment specifications
- Prior experience in handling technical sales or consultancy within the renewable energy sector
Proven experience of building and maintaining effective client relationships.
