C&N Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Head Chef that can manage the banqueting section of the kitchen based at a 4* hotel in the Hertfordshire countryside. This is a stunning location that is popular with weddings, conferences and various events throughout the year.

The main purpose of the role is to manage the production of high quality food for the banqueting of the hotel, you must be able to develop new and exciting menus dishes and formats. Also, to train and motivate a highly skilled team to meet the standards and requirements of the hotel whilst retaining tight controls over expenditure  and profitability of the department.

Main responsibilities:

  • To run the banqueting kitchen daily operations.
  • To oversee all new menu implementations with the department.
  • To ensure that new menus are cost effective.
  • To ensure accurate recipes and photo specifications.
  • To ensure the kitchen is ready for service.
  • To ensure all the kitchen team are up to date with current section activities, menus, dishes.
  • To meet with any guests to discuss their specific food requirements.

You:

  • Must be flexible with regards to working days and hours, this role will include evenings and weekends.
  • Team player
  • Effectively prioritise and manage a multi-faceted and changing workload.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Self-motivated
  • Will to train and teach junior chefs.
