The Education Network is Cheshire's leader in providing 1-1 Tutors to students not accessing full time education. We work directly with mainstream, SEN schools as well as 7 education authorities and this is expanding at a rapid rate, specifically within the St Helens area. As such we are looking to build upon our current bank of 1:1 Alternative Provision Tutors-currently in excess of 70 working individuals. At present we have a high demand for tutors who can deliver core subject areas - particularly Maths, English & Science.  
 
Many of the young people we support on a 1-1 basis have mild, moderate & sometimes severe learning difficulties and/or SEMH issues. The majority are KS3 through to KS5 and many are dis-engaged, having not attended school for some time and as such can display challenging behaviour, or may have certain emotional barriers to learning. As a result, we are seeking Tutors with a background in working hard to re-engage students back into education, who have a flexible approach and are resilient to facing extreme types of behaviour. 
 
Many of the young people come with very little or no academic background, so we need Tutors who can perform basic baseline assessments to ascertain working levels and plan for sessions moving forward. Ideal tutors will have their own resources/ bag of goodies as we say! Useful links can be provided. 

This can be a very rewarding role and suits Tutors who are seeking a part or full time- table to possibly work around another job, childcare, studies or simply just because you prefer to teach 1-1.
