 The TSR Division of Xodus Group has a focus on providing intelligent solutions to client problems that leverage a broad depth of experience in risk management practice and implementation, providing guidance on major accident hazards and reliability problems across the Oil & Gas, Energy Transition and Renewables sectors.

 We are seeking talented, motivated professionals to supplement our capabilities and help scope, develop and deliver projects. This person will bring new experience, knowledge and perspective to our team, reinforcing (and potentially expanding) existing skillsets and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering (Safety, Loss Prevention, Risk, Process Safety focus preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in engineering
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary environments / teams
  • Experience of concept and early design working and processes
  • Knowledge of risk, safety and processes for managing major accident hazard
  • Capability to communicate ideas clearly through a variety of formal and informal mediums.
  • Enthusiasm for learning, development and team working
  • Knowledge of all of the following is not essential but areas known/experienced would be beneficial.
    • Risk identification & assessment techniques such as PHA, HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, LOPA, SECE ID, Performance Standards, SIMOPs reviews
    • Reliability including FMEA, SIL verification and RAM studies, SECE management
    • Modelling including PHAST, CFD, dropped object & vessel impact assessment, fault and event tree, bowtie analysis
    • Safety management through ALARP assessment, safety case development and thorough review, safety philosophies and plans
    • Safety workshop facilitation and HAZOP Chair experience
    • Loss prevention engineering, including fire & gas detection, firewater, hazardous area classification, escape / evacuation / rescue provisions
    • Energy transition hazards: hydrogen, carbon dioxide, ammonia and methanol
    • Specialist areas: Human Factors, Safety Audit, Accident investigation / RCA, decommissioning support, operations support

The role requires an enthusiastic and engaged technical safety engineer with an ability to grow skills and learn, while supporting the variety of energy projects we work across. We expect the right candidate to be able to demonstrate a pro-active and diligent approach with excellent communication, report writing, presentation skills with the ability to summarize key parameters and drivers. Innovative and creative thinking is part of the culture in Xodus, and all our engineers need an ability for problem solving as well as being adaptable to varying assignments and multi-tasking for delivery on concurrent assignments, as required. 

Xodus also offer accredited training schemes and support to achieving Chartered Engineer status.
