We are excited to announce an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Operations Manager to join a reputable, family-run manufacturing company based in Southampton. This is a new role and has been created as part of our clients rapid growth and expansion. As the Workshop Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily workshop and office activities to ensure efficient and effective operations. This is an exciting time to join and make the company operations your own, together with the director, you will share the same passion and vision of the companies future and work together to achieve great things.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Staff Management and Development

  • Supervision: Oversee the work of technicians, mechanics, and other workshop staff.
  • Training: Identify training needs and provide or arrange for appropriate training programs.
  • Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans.

Operational Management

  • Workflow Coordination: Plan, prioritise, and delegate tasks to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of tools, equipment, and materials to meet operational needs.
  • Production Planning: Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Maintenance and Inventory Management

  • Equipment Maintenance: Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and repair of workshop equipment.
  • Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels of tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring availability and minimizing waste.

Process Improvement

  • Efficiency Enhancement: Identify areas for operational improvements and implement process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of technicians, mechanics, and other staff.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities to address daily operational challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of the joinery industry and its operational processes.
  • Understanding and familiarity with the tools, machinery, and equipment used in the workshop.
  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or operational issues.
  • Skills in monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving measures.


 

Benefits

  • Salary- £60,000- £80,000 basic
  • Commission
