Your dream role:

As part of the Alexander Dennis warehouse team this position is key to the successful and effective on time delivery of materials to point of use.  Responsible for ensuring the movement of materials is done safely and on time to minimise impact to production.  Managing a small team, the Warehouse/Line Supervisor will be responsible for motivating and coaching their team to work effectively ensuring they deliver all performance objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support all team members in the effective on time delivery of material to the point of use in compliance with the company policies and procedures.
  • Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action.
  • Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary.
  • General supervision of the warehouse team including training development, holidays and cover, overtime, sickness reporting and general performance.
  • Plan warehouse work operations in accordance with shipments, received, store orders, perish-ability, and stock rotation requirements.
  • Ensure kits are picked and called off as per MPS and agreed kitting methods.
  • Schedule and assign warehouse crew to meet schedules to handle daily volume efficiently.
  • Supervise warehouse crews in a unionised environment.
  • Supervise truck loading, order selecting, and receiving. .
  • Coach, train, and lead work teams to achieve performance expectations as it relates to specialisation in receiving, processing, storage, order assembly or loading.
  • Ensure behaviour’s support and promote ADL’s vision and values
  • Ensure all material movements are transacted on time
  • Hold tier 1 meetings daily, including weekly review of departmental KPIs and attendance at both tier 2 and tier 3 meetings.
  • Act as a conduit to provide operations status updates on materials availability and seek information from material planning teams where necessary.
  • Deliveries on time and in full for production and Goods In deliveries
  • Meets expectations under 5 S’s scorecard
  • Reduction in loss or damaged good reported
  • Meets Company HSSE policy / expectations
  • Creates a strong cohesive team and builds collaborative relationships to deliver results
  • Demonstrates behaviours in line with Company vision and values

What will you bring:

  • Must have experience in warehouse operations and team management.  Be able to demonstrate background in material handling, purchasing, and stock control.
  • Strong customer focus

  • Ability to multitask, organising workload to manage time effectively
