Job Summary

Design, create, test and document new and amend moderately complex website solutions in accordance with agreed development and security standards and processes.

The WebsiteDeveloper must be proficient in Wordpress amongst other skills, and will work closely with the Website Product Owner and testers in small scrum team to deliver and support the highest quality solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities
  • Be a valuable member of the website project team as we develop cutting-edge systems for Logistics UK.
  • Utilise your skills in design, coding, testing, and maintaining these dynamic systems.
  • Estimate development efforts accurately to ensure efficient project planning.
  • Play a key role in analysing and resolving defects and issues, contributing to a seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with a small SCRUM team, actively participating in Scrum Ceremonies.
  • Provide expert 3rd line support for WordPress and PHP applications.
  • Contribute to code reviews, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Follow Logistics UK's development policy and Security guidelines while developing robust systems.
  • Record bugs, user stories, and tasks using Azure DevOps, a powerful Microsoft lifecycle management tool.
  • Utilize Git within Azure DevOps for efficient source control of all code projects.
  • Create automated builds and releases using Microsoft's Azure DevOps.
  • Occasionally take part in out-of-hours releases, ensuring seamless deployment of updates.

Requirements

  • Performs at SFIA plus Level 2 or above.
  • Proficient in designing, coding, testing & maintaining moderately complex systems.
  • Passionate and adept in both coding and creating enterprise-level solutions.
  • Skilled in WordPress development.
  • Experience with PHP.
  • Familiar with SQL.
  • Knowledgeable in Unit Testing, including NUnit.
  • Experienced in creating and modifying Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Proficient with Visual Studio IDE.
  • Open to new ideas and adaptable to changes in processes and technology.
  • Proficient in using Git for source control.
  • Familiar with Version control and branching strategies (preferably GIT).
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft development technologies, including C#, ASP.NET Core & Web API.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Passionate about continuing education and enhancing code quality through collaboration with others, utilizing e-Learning tools, and attending supplier meetings and seminars.
  • Excellent time management with a proven track record of meeting commitments.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, even under pressure.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
