Role - Inspector

  • The purpose of this role is to support the Team Leader with the manufacturing unit in achieving plant operational targets, product quality, customer service and health & safety objectives.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Participate in team activities, utilising appropriate process, technical and engineering skills to achieve manufacturing, quality and service targets.
  • Actively contributes to all team activities aimed at improving plant performance through implementation of continuous improvement , problem solving, team building and personal self-development.
  • Suggest improvements to plant, process and operating procedures.
  • Reacts to process, engineering, quality and safety issues as they arise and utilises the knowledge, experience and skills of own and other team members to initiate corrective action.
  • Operates flexibility and safely within the team carrying out activities under direction of the team leader within area of competence, capability and training.
  • Contributes to initiatives related to improving health and safety performance, taking an active part in risk assessment/hazard identification for all operational activities and taking account of appropriate COMAH regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications /Experience Required / Person Attributes

  • An appreciation of health, safety and environmental issues in an engineering business.
  • Visual Welding Inspector - CSWIP 3.0 & 3.1 - essential
  • Detailed knowledge of Quality techniques , processes, standards, inspection and NDE techniques (DPI/MPI)
  • Proficient Use of Microsoft Packages
  • MPI Level 2 (Magnetic Particle Inspection)
  • LPI Level 2 (Liquid Penetrants Inspection)
