Role - Plater


Key Accountabilities:


  • Building fabrications from detailed engineering drawings.
  • Adhering to route/job cards and relevant quality procedures.
  • Material preparation. Thermal cutting, grinding, sawing, drilling. forming, and levelling before and after manufacture
  • Producing jigs and fixtures.
  • Adhering to all HSE related standards associated with welding.


Qualifications /Experience Required / Person Attributes

  • Relevant Time Served Qualification in Plating/Fabrication or Minimum 3 years shop floor experience.
  • Heavy engineering experience.
  • Experienced in working with carbon steel and stainless steel. Thicknesses 3mm - 300mm.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Use of various power tools. Grinders, drills,
  • Use of thermal cutting equipment. Oxy fuel (hand & straight line) & Plasma.
  • Use of rolling machines to form plate.
  • Use of plating specific equipment. Straight edge, square, tape, chalk line, level, clamps etc.
  • Experience with working from route/job cards.
  • Experience with manipulators, rollers, turntables etc.
  • Experience in preventing distortion through clamping, jigs & fixtures.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work to meet acceptance standards.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and risks associated with tasks.
  • Sheet metal and pipe fabrication. - desirable
