Role - CNC Machinist

The successful candidate will help set equipment to ensure that products are manufactured according to specifications and will be accountable for maintaining accurate records related to equipment and products. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a quick and accurate typing ability, excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Accountabilities:


  • To set up and operate a number of multitask CNC machines to perform a wide range of turning and milling operations on various complex component parts.
  • The applicant must be able to set and operate the machine tool and measure their own work
  • Work from setup sheets and verbal as well as written instructions.
  • Set up Tooling in the machine and install program into the CNC machine,
  • To be able to machine parts to tight tolerances.
  • Inspect finished piece part for proper dimensions and document results.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments to offset coordinates, tooling or machine Centre conditions.


Qualifications / Experience Required / Person Attributes Desirable

  • Relevant time served machinist with CNC & Manual experience of at least 3 Years

Or

  • Minimum Level 3 Qualification


Essential

  • Understanding of basic G & M Codes
  • CAD Drawing interpretation, including basic machining tolerances and surface finishes
  • Machine Tool Setting
  • Basic understanding of machine mechanics - (able to identify machine issues as they arise)
  • Heavy Engineering Experience
  • Able to Program Conventionally
  • Machine Setting experience


Desirable

  • Knowledge of quality assurance requirements and procedures
  • Understanding of production costs, by being able to have minimal downtimes and raising concerns ahead of time.
  • Ability to use Micrometres, Verniers and DTIs.
  • Ability to use Part & Tool Probing
